Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability

Vision
A resilient Nigeria where communities adapt to climate change, preserve natural ecosystems, and protect their environment for future generations.
Why It Matters
Climate change is no longer a distant threat — it is already displacing families, damaging farmlands, and increasing poverty across Nigeria’s most vulnerable communities.

Rising floods, heat waves, and poor waste management threaten livelihoods, public health, and food security.

At Forward Africa (FOFA), we believe that environmental sustainability and community resilience go hand in hand. By investing in climate education, waste management, and youth-led green initiatives, we are preparing the next generation to understand, act, and lead the fight against climate change.

Every school we engage, every recycling bin we donate, and every community we empower brings Nigeria one step closer to a sustainable future.
our approach
Climate Education & Youth Empowerment:
We train students, teachers, and young people to understand climate issues and take local action through Eco Vanguard Clubs.

Community-Based Adaptation:
Partnering with local authorities and NGOs, we help flood-prone and riverine communities develop local resilience plans and eco-friendly livelihoods.

Waste Management & Recycling:
FOFA promotes recycling culture in schools and communities, donating bins and running waste segregation awareness campaigns.

Climate Advocacy & Partnerships:
We amplify community voices, engage policymakers, and collaborate with development partners to integrate climate priorities into state and local agendas.
